About Yorkies By Design
We breed healthy, beautiful and positively adorable Yorkshire Terriers. Our puppies are raised in a loving home environment with kids of all ages, and every puppy of course comes with our health guarantee.
We are meticulous about our selected breeding parents. In a nutshell, everything we do is “By Design.”
Raised in our home
Our puppies are hand-raised in our home with our children, socialised from the start, and — we will admit it — completely spoiled. They are handled every day, so they come to you used to people, noise and normal family life.
Tails are docked and dew claws removed. Every puppy leaves with our health guarantee.
Chosen parents, on purpose
Size, coat quality, structure, colour genetics and temperament all go into choosing which of our dogs we breed. Our lines include chocolate, parti, chocolate parti, merle, KB and traditional black and gold, and our studs Thor and Eliot are both AKC registered.
You can meet every one of our dogs on the parents page — we do not breed a dog we would not want to live with.
Where we are
We are located in Idaho. The majority of our babies are delivered via a flight or travel nanny agency, and local pick-up is arranged directly with us.

Questions we get asked
- How do I find out which puppies are available?
- The fastest way is to text us at 208-351-3588. We almost always have puppies or expectant litters anticipated, and we are happy to answer questions and send updated pictures of our available puppies.
- How do I reserve a puppy?
- Fill out our deposit contract and get in touch. The deposit reserves your place in line to pick your puppy and is applied to the puppy's final purchase price.
- Is the deposit refundable?
- No. The deposit for reserving your place in line is not refunded under any circumstance, because we have fulfilled our commitment by giving you a place in line. The one exception is if something happens to the puppy before the pick-up date — then the deposit is refunded.
- When is the balance due?
- Payment in full is due at the time of pick-up. If a puppy is flown out or delivered by a travel nanny, the puppy must be paid for in full before it leaves our home.
- Do you deliver?
- We are located in Idaho, and the majority of our babies are delivered via a flight or travel nanny agency. Shipping is arranged between us and the buyer once approved.
- What does the health guarantee cover?
- Your puppy is guaranteed against a life-threatening congenital defect diagnosed before one year from date of birth, with a replacement puppy of equal value. You will need to arrange a check-up with a qualified veterinarian within 48 hours of receiving the puppy (not including Sundays) and notify us immediately of any concern. - Why a Yorkie?
- Yorkies are very smart and perceptive, they have a beautiful hypoallergenic non-shedding coat, they are a healthy breed with a long lifespan, and they are innately loyal companions with a fierce love for their caretakers.
- Do Yorkies shed?
- The Yorkshire Terrier is well known for a hypoallergenic, non-shedding coat. Grow it long or keep it short — either way, it does not shed like most breeds.
